Another four years

Well, the olympics came to an end today to my dismay, i love the winter olympics, i find them so much more fun than their summer counterpart, what with the speed skating and the skiing and the snowboarding and the hockey, i could do without having to watch the figure skating events and the curling, but i must admit that curling is much more interesting then baseball even though i don't understand it. And i just found out that Ireland actually had athletes in the games, they didn't do very well, but that's to be expected from a country that doesn't really have winter. They had 4 athletes, 2 for alpine skiing and one for cross country and one for skeleton, but like they say, nobody careens down an icy slope head-first on a cafeteria tray quite like the canadians. Well, there are now four years left until the next winter olympics, and i really really hope i'll be able to go, since they're in Vancouver, and maybe i could compete in the winter games after that, yeah right, only if they introduce downhill snowboarding, unless i take up speed skating in my old age, it seems that that's what a lot of people do, it seems like a lot of the good ones only take up speed skating after they've done something else, like Clara Hughes, or Cindy Klassen, or Joey Cheek, or Shani Davis. But since i'm a jack of all trades, master of none in sports, i doubt that would ever happen, well that and the fact that i'm lazy, but i'm sure that if i got some kind of motivation i could do it, but of course that would require me to get up, so i probably won't be able to scratch get an olympics medal off my things to do list. Well, i guess i'll just have to settle with going to the soccer World Cup in a few years, but as a referee.

Holy Carp

Well it's been a while since i've written anything down here, so i figured i'd indulge and just write some random crap. I've been watching the olympics, and boy i love watching the winter olympics, unfortunately, it seems that Canada is really good at getting 4th place. We seem to hear "just out of the medals" a lot. Don't get me wrong, 4th in the olympics is still fantastis, but i'm sure the people that hate that are the athletes that get 4th place. I finally saw the Pocket Dwellers in concert this past weekend too, and i can say that this juno nominated funk band puts on an amazing show. And speaking of music, i've finally actually starting refurbishing my drums, well i've just kinda taken it apart, now all i need is money and/or a job, either one would be nice, but unfortunately places won't give me a job, and nobody will give me money, so i'm kinda stuck right now. I really have nothing to talk about, i haven't been keeping up to speed in the news cause i've been in my bubble the last few weeks, all i've been doing is watching the olympics and kinda doing homework, nothing really interesting actually. All i really have to say is Canada rules in women's hockey, in men's, not so much, but them women can kick some serious ass!

Steelers Win!

Well congratulations to the Pittsburg Steelers, the winners of Super Bowl XL (40, not extra large). More importantly congratulations to Bill Cowher and Jerome Bettis, Cowher who finally gets his ring after so many misses, and Bettis who can retire now with his ring. Well done to you both, you deserve it. I wanted to see Seattle win because it was their first time in the Super Bowl, and very likely to be their last, because they have a McGill graduate, a Montreal native, and we have to support our bretheren, but i guess there's no team more deserving of the ring then the Steelers. So once again: Super Bowl XL Champions Pittsburg Steelers 2006!!
And well, even though the Super Bowl was the main event this weekend, one player, not with the NFL, was shining in Montreal. Move over Theo, there's a new sherriff in town, and he's actually consistent. I guess the french can't be all bad is they can produce a keeper like Christobal Huet, 2 shutouts in a row against the Bruins and then against the Flyers, on two consecutive days. I think the Canadiens have a new hero. It's a pity for Theodore, but he was always very inconsistent. We finally have a consistent keeper, one with a name that's perfect for chanting, HU-ET, and he's probably saved the Canadiens from sliding even further in the standings and being even further behind Toronto in the playoff race. Now all he needs to do is get a shutout against the Leafs and we will always love him. Go Habs Go!

Miss Me?

Alright, so it's been a while since i last updated, it seems like forever, but don't you fret, i'm still alive, i've just been doing nothing with my time and nothing of great importance has happened. Actually that's not true, but it's not something i'd feel like posting on the net. I heard the greatest thing the other day, and i hope it catches on in the rest of the world. A friend of mine was telling me what he overheard, he heard this guy telling a buddy, you must understand that it's the dead of winter and there's a layer of snow at least 2 feet thick everywhere, that he wishes his grass was emo so it would cut itself. Isn't that just the greatest, i hope all you emo people are offended, because emo sucks, it was never a credible style of music and just saying that it could be classified as music bothers me.

Speaking of music, a couple of posts ago, i started putting up music that i was listening at the time and said that it would be a weekly feature, but that failed miserably, so instead of that, i'll just post names of bands every time i remember for people to listen to because they deserve to be listened to. This features artist is Ephel Duath, an italian (pronouced eye-talian) extreme metal band that incorporates jazz horns into their music. Caution: you must remember that it's extreme metal, you can only listen to it if you have an open mind, other wise your brain may explode.

The Super Bowl is on sunday and i have no clue who the favorites are (i think it's the Steelers), but my pick, a very uneducated one at that, would be the Seahawks because it's seems that the majority of super bowl winners are from the NFC, although the AFC has been winning some thanks to the Pats, but their reign of terror is over, thank god. So there you have it, Seahawks by 3 touchdowns, put all your money on it, better yet, all you emo kids, bet your life.

Well it seems i've run out of inane things to say, so i'll leave you with something that fits me very well, for those of you who don't know me, I put the bad in badminton (thank you chris).
