Rivalry Renewed

Whoever said that there is no longer a rivalry between the Leafs and the Canadiens was dead wrong, they were disproved last night after the second game in a row between the two teams. Again the Canadiens won by 4 goals, this time it was 6-2, but boy was the third period exciting. I'm not talking about goals being scored, i'm talking about fights. Now i am not a big fan of fights, but in this case i'll make an exception. There were three brawls in the final period and each one involved everyone on the ice, even Huet tried to get in on the action in the last one. And Kovalev, whoboy! that was incredible. He was cross-checked and high-sticked by Darcy Tucker (a former Canadien), and of course the refs didn't see it (although i really couldn't complain about the refs this night). The next play, Kovalev was handling the puck and crossed the ice and leveled Tucker, forearm right in the face, and flattened him good, and then of course a brawl ensued. This is the year that rivalries are renewed. Just the last week, the rivalry between Montreal and Boston was renewed, not that i saw the game, just what i read in the paper, but this could be a good thing. I mean this could be the end of playing solely for money and finally for passion once again. Thank God for rivalries!

In my dreams!

Well, it's that time of the month now. And no i'm not talking about my period, although that would be somewhat strange considering i don't have a vagina. I wonder where it would come out if guys had a period? but that's not really something i'd want to think about. However it is time for my PMS, of course i can't really say what it stands for in this case, it's just time for me to bitch. I guess i have to mention that Japan won the first World Baseball Classic, and i have to say that i'm glad it wasn't the states, whenever the states lose, i'm happy, even if i hate baseball with a passion. And keeping with sports, our beloved Canadiens have fallen down to 9th spot, but i'm not worried yet, they've got another 2 games left this week and they're both against Toronto, if we lose these, then i'll be afraid.

I've never spoken about my drums on this thing yet, well i think it's about time i had. I love my drums even though i'm not as good as i'd like to be. I've been watching Thomas Lang's DVD, Creative Control, and constantly shitting myself. There are a few clinics coming this way, at the end of april Terry Bozzio, formerly of Frank Zappa fame, is coming with Marco Minnemann, incredible, and Chad Wackerman, incredible. And later on, in june, Steve Gadd is coming. Apparently Vinnie Paul Abbott, formerly of Pantera and Damageplan, is coming in the summer. All i have to say is AWESOME! I can't wait to get money so i can start spending it on my drums again. And as soon as i get money, i'll start redoing drums and then go on to building snares. And of course i will post all my loverly creations on this here site.

Speaking of drums, Dream Theater is coming tomorrow night at the Metropolis to play another 3 hour set, and with them comes Mike Portnoy and his Albino Monster, and no i'm not talking about some white godzilla, it's the name of his drum kit, now you know you're a serious drummer when you name your setup.

Oh my god, i'm writing paragraphs, what the hell is wrong? do i really have that much to write? The answer is yes.

Keeping with the theme of japan and of music, if we throw them into a blender, what kind of nasty mush comes out? you got it, some weird concoction nobody should be allowed to experience. I'm just kidding. Put 'em together and we get japanese music. Now usually japanese pop sounds like some high pitched female singing along to electronic music, sounds like my sister at karaoke, but i've been listening to a lot of japanese rock lately, particularly X Japan and Loudness. Strange how japanese rock sounds a lot like american metal. And it seems Loudness is making a stop in Toronto, and i've been invited to the show.

The end of the term is coming up soon, and with that comes the start of exams. Now i need to get a GPA of 2.00 this year, and it's actually very possible. I need to pull off 3 B's and a minimum of a D in that last class, which is entirely possible, i just really need to buckle down and study, and what's strange is that i've actually started studying for finals, even before the semester has ended; hell must have finally frozen over, uh oh, that means that Toronto is going to win the stanley cup.
